You know the feeling.
The one where you're walking through town and everything just looks a little better than it did a month ago. The sidewalks are warmer. The coffee shop has its windows open. Someone's dog is tied up outside the bookstore and wagging at everyone who walks by. There's nowhere you have to be in the next twenty minutes and somehow, today, that actually feels true.
That's June in Granville. And if you live here, you already know there's nothing quite like it.

A Town That Knows How to Do Summer
Granville doesn't do summer the loud way.
There's no boardwalk, no tourist rush, no countdown to something bigger somewhere else. What there is — and what people who live here know in their bones — is something quieter and better. Front porches that actually get used. Neighbors who stop and talk. The kind of evening where you meant to run one errand and ended up out for two hours because you kept running into people you were glad to see.
It's the kind of place that rewards slowing down. And summer is when Granville is most itself.
Cedar & Thread was built for exactly this town and exactly this pace. The pieces on our floor aren't for rushing — they're for living in. For a Saturday at the farmers market, a dinner on someone's back patio, a lazy Sunday that turns into something unexpectedly lovely. For the version of your life that June in Granville makes possible.
June 5th & 6th — The Door Is Wide Open
Every summer, we open the doors a little wider. This year, we're doing it across two full days — and we're calling it the Summer Open House Party.
Friday, June 5th and Saturday, June 6th, 10AM–5PM, everything in the store is 20% off storewide (excluding R. Riveter). New arrivals are on the floor. Summer styles are everywhere. And the whole point is simply this: come in, take your time, and find something that feels like yours.
Saturday turns it up a notch. We'll have cold lemonade from Staying Alive Refreshments and a delicious summer spread from Palumbo's Italian Market — so come wander, come hungry, and bring a friend. Or two.
This is the kind of event that Granville does better than anywhere. Not a flash sale, not a rush — just two good days with good people, good food, and a floor full of things worth finding.
Welcome Back, Denison
One of the things that makes Granville special is that people don't really leave it — not fully. They go, and then they come back. For reunions, for family, for alumni weekends, for that specific pull that a town like this has on the people it raised or shaped or simply loved for four years.
If you're coming back for Denison Alumni Weekend, Cedar & Thread wants to be part of your homecoming. Wear your alumni gear into the shop and we'll take 20% off your entire purchase. No catch. Just a small way of saying — this town is glad you're here, and so are we.
Something Worth Celebrating
June also marks one full year of Cedar & Thread — and we are marking it.
On Saturday, June 27th, we're throwing a proper party. A tent event, a celebration, the whole thing. Details are coming soon, but go ahead and save the date now because you're not going to want to miss this one.
One year of this shop, this street, this community showing up in ways we honestly didn't know to expect. We couldn't be more grateful — and we can't wait to celebrate it with you.
Stay tuned.
